Health & Safety Including Safeguarding & E-Safety

Health & Safety policy documents are available at the bottom of the page.

All schools have a duty to comply with the legal requirements outlined in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and its associated regulations.

The Governing Body have duties to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable:

  • the health, safety and welfare of teachers and other education staff
  • the health and safety of pupils in-school and on off-site visits
  • the health and safety of others in school, including visitors, volunteers involved in any school activity, contractors etc.

The School Health and Safety Governor is Mr B Sweatman. Concerns can also be raised with the Chair of the Governing Body Mrs. J Edgar.

Safeguarding

Here at Our Lady of Grace we are committed to ensuring that all employees work in an environment that is free from abuse or harm.

School has a Staff/Volunteer Code of Conduct document which draws together different key elements of Health & Safety and Safeguarding policies & procedures in to one easy to follow document. All adults working at school are required to read the document alongside the Health & Safety Summary, Safeguarding Policy, E-Safety Policy and Part 1 of Keeping Children Safe in Education. We have a checklist which staff/volunteers must sign to  confirm that they have received copies of these documents.

Encompass

School is enrolled on the Encompass Initiative which is an early information partnership enabling schools to offer immediate support for children and young people experiencing domestic violence/abuse. Information is shared with Key Adults (Mrs Casey & Mr Collins) prior to the start of the next day after officers have attended an incident. This enables support to be given quickly. The needs and wishes of the child should also be considered.

Copies of all these documents are available below with the exception of the Code of Conduct which is available from Mr T Collins (Designated Safeguarding Lead) on request.

If you have any concerns regarding the safety of any member of our school community please do not hesitate to get in touch with Mrs A K Casey, Headteacher or Mr T Collins, Deputy Headteacher.
