Welcome to Y4P
Welcome to our class page. Here you will be able to see all the exciting learning that is taking place and there are lots of useful links included to help. We have a very exciting year ahead!
World Book Day
We have had a great time making masks, learning about Fairytales and writing our own Fairytales with a twist! We hope you like our masks!
Today we had a special visit from Sean Hartofilis who is a Film Maker all the way from New York! He is visiting Manchester to attend the Film Festival as his latest movie is being shown there. We really enjoyed having our questions answered and finding out about what it's like to make a film.
Fun in the Snow
Year Four have had some fun in the snow. We built snowmen, made snow angels, we tried to find out who could make the biggest snowball and who could throw their snowballs the furthest. It was SNOW much fun!
This year is a very exciting year because we are taking part in our Sacramental Programme. In the picture above we are showing how proud we are of our prayers we wrote, which were displayed in church.
As part of our Reconciliation we need to learn the Act of Contrition. Please help us to practise.
Oh my God,
because you are so good,
I am very sorry that I have sinned against you,
and by the help of your grace,
I will not sin again
Our Trip to the Airport
For our school trip we went to the airport. We had lots of fun learning about the airport, the aeroplanes and the best part was dressing up. We got to see lots of planes and even learnt how to become a pilot and fly one. Have a look at our pictures and all the fun we had.
Over the last half term in our science lessons, we have been learning all about Space. This has been incredibly fun; we have all learnt lots of facts and some new songs. To end the topic we made space rockets at home to show our parents how much we have learnt. These were then brought into school where we held our own rocket exhibition, which included both year three classes. Have a look at our fantastic rockets that we made.
Visiting Prestwich Library
Today we walked down to Prestwich Library for a visit. Whilst there we had a great time learning how the books are organised and becoming a librarian! We heard a lovely story and completed many challenges. We all got to choose our own book that we can read in school over the next few weeks.
George's Marvellous Medicine
This week we pretended to be George from the book we are reading 'George's Marvellous Medicine'. In ICT we made our own chant to say whilst brewing our medicine, just like George did in the story. We even had our own potions class, where we made our own medicine. Take a look at the fun we had during our potions lesson and read the chant we made as a class to say whilst stirring our medicine.
Y3D potions chant
Hopping, bopping the worms are popping.
Smoking, poking like fire burning.
Bubbling, sizzling like soup in a pan.
Fizzing, whizzing like fireworks exploding.
Help! There’s snakes zooming through the air.
There’s a potion blasting everywhere!
What shall we put in next?
In maths we have had lots of fun making models of 3D shapes. Can you guess what shapes we have made?
