Our Lady of Grace strives to teach a broad and well-balanced curriculum and is fully committed to preparing our pupils for life in Britain today. Every child is taught to respect all people, faiths and communities.
CURRICULUM
The curriculum consists of all those activities designed to promote the intellectual, personal, spiritual, moral, cultural, social and physical development of the pupils. The school follows the Early Years Foundation Stage with Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils following the National Curriculum.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
We proudly follow the Red Directory guidelines set by the Salford Diocese, ensuring that Christ is at the centre of everything we do. Through this updated Religious Education curriculum, we provide a rich, deep, and engaging faith formation that helps children explore scripture, Catholic tradition, and contemporary moral questions at an age-appropriate level. We do not just teach RE as an academic subject; we live it daily through prayer, collective worship & a strong commitment to social justice. Partnering with our families and parish, we nurture your child’s unique, God-given talents, guiding them to grow in love, kindness & active citizenship rooted in Gospel values.
RELATIONSHIP EDUCATION
At our school, Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) is delivered through Ten Ten’s Life to the Full curriculum, ensuring that statutory Department for Education guidelines are met within a holistic framework rooted in Catholic Christian teaching. Inspired by Gospel values and the principle that every child is uniquely created and loved by God. The scheme explores personal identity, healthy friendships, emotional well-being, personal safety & physical development using age-appropriate, media-rich resources. Using interactive video lessons, story-led activities & guided prayer, pupils are encouraged to form positive relationships, practice respect & empathy & make wise choices as they grow. Close partnership with families is a cornerstone of this approach, providing parents with access to dedicated portal materials so that conversations around physical, social, and spiritual growth can be supported seamlessly both in the classroom and at home.
BEHAVIOUR
Good behaviour supports learning. Our Lady of Grace has very high standards of behaviour and parents are asked to play their part in supporting school. Pupils are expected to follow our School Rules at all times. The governors have an agreed policy on school behaviour. We strive to help the children to learn to live together in a caring community by:
PLAY
Play is the principal means of learning in early childhood. It is the way children express what they are finding out about the world in which they live. Play is activity with purpose. During play, children explore relationships, use their imagination and encounter rich sources of language. They are able to experiment and interact with their environment. They have opportunities to be creative and to develop an awareness of the world that surrounds them. In these ways they become self-confident and self-motivated. The more varied the possibilities for play, the more enriched will be the children’s experiences. Our children receive many opportunities to engage in planned structured play activities.
ASSESSMENT
Teachers carry out regular informal assessments about the progress of every child in our school.
Parents also have the opportunity to discuss their child's progress at parents' evenings throughout the year.

Each year a formal report is given to parents. This includes information regarding attainment and progress.
