Welcome to Y4CJ

We work hard in Y4CJ but still try to have as much fun as possible. On this page you will find out about some of the things we do. We hope you enjoy exploring our page

Our American Friend!

Today we had a special visit from Sean Hartofilis who is a Film Maker all the way from New York! He is visiting Manchester to attend the Film Festival as his latest movie is being shown there. We really enjoyed having our questions answered and finding out about what it's like to make a film.

World Book Day

Keeping with our school's fairy tale theme we are carrying out lots of fun activities  linked to fairy tales over the next two days. We will be sharing our favourite fairy tales, making masks and hats, creating wanted posters for fairy tale villains, making book marks amongst other fun activities.

Please look at some of the pictures below of the children performing a scene from The Emperor's New Clothes.

Our Advent Calendar

As we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus, we will be counting down the days a little differently. We will be sharing our Advent promises: the positive, kind things we are going to do for others during Advent.

We have learnt that electrical energy can be converted into heat, light, sound and movement energy. We have also learnt that we are going to have lots of fun learning about electricity.

Welcome to Year 3H!

Thank you for visiting our class page.

We always have lots of fun in our class and you can find regular updates here.

This year is a very exciting year because we are taking part in our Sacramental Programme.

As part of our Reconciliation we need to learn the Act of Contrition. Please help us to practise.

Oh my God,

because you are so good,

I am very sorry that I have sinned against you,

and by the help of your grace,

I will not sin again

Monday- Spelling Homework

(spelling tests will take place each Friday)

Friday-  Literacy & Maths to be returned on Wednesday

Maths – This will be a page in the homework book. The relevant page will be dated each week.

Reading - Read daily with your child. This can improve fluency, confidence and comprehension. We aim to change books as often as they are signed and handed in. Please return your child's book daily as they may have the opportunity to read in class.

Ongoing – Times tables. Tests will take place each Friday.

Handley Hero Award

The children enjoy receiving rewards for their work and having their efforts displayed in class. We encourage each other to do our very best in all that we do and praise our friends on their achievements.

Autumn 1 - Friday afternoon (delivered by QFirst Sports)

Autumn 2 - Thursday afternoon

Please ensure your child has a PE kit in school at all times and we will send home at the end of each half term.

George's Marvellous Medicine

During Autumn 1 we have been reading the story of George's Marvellous Medicine. As part of our literacy work we made our own medicine and wrote list poems which are now displayed in our classroom.

During half term Miss Handley asked us to find right angles on everyday objects and take a photograph. Look at all the right angles we found!
